We sent out invitations, (a little late), ordered Jersey Giant, ordered the cake, cleaned the house. . (uh-mmm okay I had the house cleaned), decorated the house, and we were ready for Madison's First Birthday Party! Like any parent of a one year old, we couldn't believe she was already a year old. Everybody tells you that it goes by so fast and they are so right. We were very excited to celebrate all of the joy and love little Madison Rose has brought us in one year. We also were excited to celebrate the fact that she is a healthy little girl, with no more heart problems!!
Guests of the party included Grandma and Grandpa Bertram, Grandma Penny, Great Grandma and Grandpa Sawyer, Aunt Dawn and Uncle Tom, Godfather Chad, Aunt Jenny, Austin, and Kennon, Uncle Tim and Aunt Mary Jo, Grant and Brandon, Aunt Amy and Uncle Steve, Megan, Cole, Kimberly, Tommy, and Ben. Joining us via Skype was Uncle Matt and Godmother Melissa. Godmother Melissa was too pregnant to make the trip in person! :( We missed them both but glad they could join us some way.
We first enjoyed Jersey Giant subs and then brought out the cake. We sang Happy Birthday and then let Madison dig into her cake. She was a little unsure at first, but got the hang of it fast and decided it was some good stuff.
Soon it was time to open gifts. She got some great presents including some new clothes from both Grandparents, an Elmo cell phone from the Millers, a scooter from the Hubers, and a handmade bow holder from Matt and Melissa.
It was a fantastic birthday party! It was wonderful to share a special such a special occasion with our wonderful family!
