On September 1st we went back to Ann Arbor for a follow up appointment with the Electrophysiologist (EP). They looked over the incision and talked about the report they received from her cardiologist in Lansing. The pediatric cardiologist reported that the results from her most recent halter monitor were "normal". After reading these results, the EP recommended that we allow her to "outgrow" her medicine and see how she does. We were a bit surprised by this because the cardiologist didn't seem as optimistic about her latest results.
So, when we went back to the cardiologist for her next appointment a week or so later, we told them about our appointment at U of M and EP's recommendation. They were surprised at his recommendation and basically didn't agree. They wanted to do another 24 hour halter monitor and then talk about possibly switching her dose to the same amount but three times a day instead of four. They felt that it was too early to let her outgrow her dose. We feel comfortable with this decision but are strongly considering switching cardiologists to get another opinion. For now she is continuing to get the correct dose of medicine four times a day and seems to be responding well.
