Higgins Lake 2009

Every year my family gets together for a vacation at Higgin's Lake. My uncle graciously lets us use his cottage, and my brother graciously totes us around on his boat for skiing and other fun water activities. We eat lots of good food, rent movies, have a campfire or two, and of course go get ice cream at Nibbles!

This year Madison was able to experience Higgin's Lake for the first time! She may have been too young to understand it or enjoy it, but it was exciting for us none the less. Since Matt spent his vacation in the hospital with Madison and I, he was only able to spend a day and half at Higgins.

So on Sunday, Matt, Madison, and I headed up to Higgins. One of the first things we did when we got there was to introduce Madison to the lake and say hi! This may seem a little odd, but it's a bit of a tradition for some of us in our family to say hello and good bye to the lake. Below are two pictures of Matt holding up Madison so she could say hello to the lake.

Matt had to leave on Monday, but not before he got to see Dad, Brother Matt, and Melissa. Before Matt left we also got some family pictures done. Brother Matt took the pictures and Melissa helped. They did a great job!

On Thursday, the Millers and the Platte's came to join us. Unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice especially over the weekend. We did go to the state park on Wednesday and Friday. While we were at the beach I HAD to take some pictures of Madison's first trips to the beach AND her first adorable swimsuit! (Thank you Jenny!)

Despite the icky weather, we were fortunate to be (almost) all together for another year at Higgins!
